Thalgo offers a total of 25 facials and 18 body treatments to create visible results while promoting healthy skin without risk of irritation.
Thalgo brings together the medical and the aesthetic fields by improving not only the skin, but also health, metabolism, and well-being of the human body.
By combining the power of mineral rich extracts with natural marine and fruit acids, Thalgo is renowned for its dramatic effects in revitalizing, re-balancing, detoxifying, and general firming and toning of the face and body.
Our patented Micronized Marine Algae (MMA) provides outstanding results in the medical treatment of conditions such as rheumatism, arthritis and skin disorders. Due to a unique manufacturing process, the cell walls of the marine algae are literally exploded to release the active inner ingredients. The micro-particles of the resulting powder ensure remarkable skin penetration and are extensively used for slimming, thalassotherapy, and detoxifying programs in spas and resorts.
Thalgo never tests on animals. All testing is done on human volunteers and controlled by the WHO.
Thalgo’s Claim to Fame

Thalasso Therapy
Etymology
Doctor de La Bonnardière, a doctor from Arcachon, France, invented the word Thalassotherapy in 1867 from two Greek words meaning “treat with the sea” (in Greek: thalassa = sea and therapeia = treatment).
Definition
Thalassotherapy takes place in a special marine site. It combines the use of all the benefits of the marine environment under medical supervision and with a preventive and curative aim. These benefits include: the marine climate, seawater, marine mud, algae, sand and other substances extracted from the sea. Thalassotherapy must be carried out in close proximity to the sea.
History
The curative properties of seawater and the marine climate have been used for therapeutic means since ancient times. Today’s Marine Treatments are a true asset for our well-being.
In 1822, the 1st “seawater hot baths” open in Dieppe.
In 1899, a Thalassotherapy institute opens its doors in Roscoff (Brittany, France).
In 1904, René Quinton lays the scientific foundations of seawater therapy.
In 1964, Louison Bobet opens the 1st modern Thalassotherapy Centre.
In 1966, the patent for Micro-Exploded Algae is registered by pharmacist A. Bouclet,
at the origin of Thalgo.
Adaptable Distribution
Increasingly modern customers have incited the Thalassotherapy world to change in recent years. The image of Thalassotherapy has become gradually more welcoming, inspired by Spas. Centres are adapting and are now friendlier spaces with a more sensory-stimulating offer.
Today, Spas and Beauty Institutes use the benefits of Algae to heighten the effectiveness of their treatments.

Algae
Algae have the amazing ability to increase the rich content of minerals and trace elements of the sea and restore its strengthening, remineralizing and balancing properties, sometimes by up to 100,000 times. The star of treatments, algae act like sponges in Thalassotherapy to give you the best that seawater has to offer.
They have a very high concentration of mineral elements (iodine, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, copper, zinc, cobalt, iron, fluoride, etc.) and also contain almost every vitamin and amino acid.
Thanks to this particularly rich composition, algae boast antiviral as well as antibacterial qualities. They are used to heal rheumatism and regulate the thyroid gland.
While the most common use is in algae body wraps, in which the body is entirely covered with hot algae before being wrapped in a hot blanket, algae can also be used in a bath or even find their way onto your plate. The muscles relax, blood circulation is reactivated and toxins are eliminated.

Marine Mud
Built up at the bottom of the bays over a surface area of several millimeters, natural earth and marine elements mix together and deposit sediment to form a marine silt. Its rich sulfide content gives marine mud an easily recognizable acidic odor.
Marine mud has real ionic concentrations due to marine fauna and flora. It is renowned for its analgesic power against rheumatism, except in the case of severe outbreaks, and for certain skin conditions.
Used in cataplasms or directly on the body and mixed with seawater, marine mud traps toxins and gently purifies the body. Dosed at 2 kilos of mud per 500 liters of seawater, it acts physiologically with its plasticity and power to retain water and heat, and chemically, via the movement of certain of its trace elements through the skin.
To be effective, the body wrap must last around 25 minutes: while you relax, the skin absorbs the components present in the mud and the effect of the heat removes toxins, which asphyxiate the body, through the pores of the epidermis. Recharged with vitamins, the body is freed of its impurities and the skin becomes softer.
